    Flora Spivak will discuss and demonstrate simple techniques for making fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut and brined pickles. Come learn and/or share your own experience and knowledge of these traditional methods of preserving food. Sample recipes will be provided.

    Meet fellow fermentation lovers and learn about how you can get involved in the upcoming Somerville Fermentation Festival at our next community brunch. Festival organizer Flora Spivak will provide a spread of homemade sourdough bagels, cultured cream cheese, and various fermented veggies. Guests are invited but not required to bring a fermented food or beverage to share.


    This month’s brunch will feature a special guest, former Boston Fermentation Festival organizer Jeremy Ogusky.
