Vegetable Fermentation

Flora Spivak will discuss and demonstrate simple techniques for making fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut and brined pickles. Come learn and/or share your own experience and knowledge of these traditional methods of preserving food. Sample recipes will be provided. -

Meet fellow fermentation lovers and learn about how you can get involved in the upcoming Somerville Fermentation Festival at our next community brunch. Festival organizer Flora Spivak will provide a spread of homemade sourdough bagels, cultured cream cheese, and various fermented veggies. Guests are invited but not required to bring a fermented food or beverage to share.
This month’s brunch will feature a special guest, former Boston Fermentation Festival organizer Jeremy Ogusky.All are welcome!
