Flora Spivak will discuss and demonstrate simple techniques for making veggie fermentations such as sauerkraut and pickling at home. Sample recipes provided. Come learn and/or share your own experience and knowledge of these traditional methods of preserving food.

Plans for the first-ever Somerville Fermentation Festival are bubbling along and we want to tell you what we're up to! Join us in the Fresh Pond area for a casual, drop-in fermented brunch featuring homemade sourdough bagels & cultured cream cheese, lacto-fermented veggies, and more provided by your host & festival organizer, Flora Spivak.
