A celebration of food and culture in Somerville, MA

The Somerville Fermentation Festival brings together a community of fermented food & beverage vendors, artists, and scientists in a one-day celebration of the world of fermentation. In an effort to spread knowledge, awareness, and enthusiasm around fermentation, this entire event is free & open to the public.

What to Expect at the Festival

  • A diverse marketplace of fermented food vendors from across New England

  • A series of speakers and panel discussions on various aspects of fermented food

  • A “Kraut Mob” - a free, guided make-your-own sauerkraut table

  • A culture swap - bring a SCOBY or starter culture to share and take a different one home!

Parking: Off-street parking is available behind the building, with overflow parking at 75 Belmont Street. Ample street parking is available without restriction (Sundays only).
